Job Groom (1795-1823)
Job Groom was born in Monmouth or Middlesex Co., New Jersey in 1795 and was an early settler in Pickaway Co., Ohio, close to the county boundary with Franklin Co. He married Polly Bloom in Circleville, Pickaway Co. in 1814 and died in that county in 1823. Job and Polly had the following children:
1. Catherine Groom (b. 1815- ).
2. David Groom (b. 1816--1872) married (1) Maria Waggoner in 1837 in Franklin Co. They had Mary Jennetta, Rhoda and Smith. He married (2) Mary Ann Clayton and they had Marion, James, Charles, Elizabeth and Manta. David died in Appanoose Co., Iowa.
3. Peter Groom (b. 1819--1858) married Martha Ann Shoemaker in 1842 in Franklin Co. Their children included Morrison Penny, Sally Sarah, Nancy Jane, Job and Catherine. Peter died in Appanoose Co., Iowa.
4. Elizabeth Groom (b. 1822-- )
Note: The relationship between Ezekiel Groom and Job is unknown. Job may have been a nephew or cousin.
