Ezekiel Groom (1767-1836)

About 1793, he went to Hampshire Co., Virginia (now West Virginia). In 1805 he brought his family to central Ohio first settling in Pickaway County and in 1807 settling in Madison Township in Franklin County, Ohio. Ezekiel died in 1836 and he and Rhoda are buried in Hopewell Methodist Graveyard in Franklin County, Ohio. The following children were born to Ezekiel and Rhoda Groom:

They had Zachariah, Rachael, Hosea, Rhoda and Augustus. He married his second wife Charity Young in 1834 in Franklin Co. They had Charity, Obediah, Louisa, Isaac, Albert and Orilla.
Note: Ezekiel is shown on tax lists for Upper Freehold Township in Middlesex Co., NJ, in the 1790's. He is also listed in a 1793 militia list for Upper Freehold Township with Azariah Groom. I believe that Azariah may have been a younger brother to Ezekiel. Azariah is last shown on tax lists in 1793, the same year that Ezekiel left NJ to go to VA.
